A man has been charged by Gardaí investigating the discovery of a body in County Kildare at the weekend.

The body of 36-year-old Shane Knott was found in the back garden of a house in Naas on Sunday afternoon.

The discovery was made at around 1:30pm in Eustace Demesne.

It is understood Mr Knott may have been dead for a number of days before his body was found.

A man aged in his 40s was arrested shortly afterwards under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.

He has been charged and is due to appear before Naas District Court later this morning.
