A man is due in court following a fatal assault in Limerick on Saturday.
Early in the morning, Gardaí were called to a house in Garryowen and a man in his 40s was found unresponsive.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by ambulance staff and his body was later removed for a post-mortem examination.
Another man, also in his 40s, was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
He has now been charged and will appear before a special sitting of Ennis District Court at 5pm this evening.
Gardaí have asked anyone who was on Sarsfield Avenue on Saturday between 4am and 5.15am to contact them on 061 212 400.
