A man has appeared in court charged in connection with a crash that led to the death of a male pedestrian in north Dublin over the weekend.
The victim - a man in his 40s - died after being hit by a car on North Street in Swords in the early hours of Saturday.
The man was pronounced dead following a suspected hit and run shortly after 3am.
Gardaí issued an appeal for information after the car involved in the collision failed to remain at the scene.
Desmond Collopy (29) of Landen Road in Ballyfermot was arrested as part of their investigation.
Mr Collopy was charged with dangerous driving and he appeared in court this morning.
There was no application for bail and he was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
