Gardaí issued an appeal for information after the car involved in the collision failed to remain at the scene.

Desmond Collopy (29) of Landen Road in Ballyfermot was arrested as part of their investigation.

Mr Collopy was charged with dangerous driving and he appeared in court this morning.

There was no application for bail and he was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court on Friday.
