A 33-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of another man in Kilkenny.
Edward 'Liam' O'Sullivan was found injured at a house on Castlecomer Road in the city in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The 46-year-old was taken to St Luke's Hospital with serious injuries but was pronounced dead shortly before 11pm that night.
Garrett Smith, with an address at St Fiacc's Terrace, Graigcullen, Co Carlow appeared before a special sitting of Kilkenny District Court this afternoon.
He was remanded in custody to appear again via videolink from Cloverhill Prison on Tuesday.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have information in relation to this incident to come forward.
They are particularly appealing to anyone who was in the Castlecomer Road / Gas House Lane area between 3.30am and 5.30am on Thursday.
They would also like to hear from road users who may have camera footage.
