A man in his 50s has been charged in connection with the investigation into the murder of Tina Satchwell.
It was confirmed earlier that remains found at a house in Youghal in Co Cork are those of the 45-year-old woman.
A man was arrested in Youghal on Thursday morning and was taken to Cobh Garda station for questioning.
A man in his 50s has now been charged and is due to appear before a special sitting of Cashel District Court tomorrow morning.
An extensive and wide-ranging search began back in March 2017 when Ms Satchwell was first reported missing.
On Tuesday, her missing person's case was upgraded to a murder investigation and a man was arrested.
Officers then used mini-diggers and jack hammers as part of a comprehensive search of a house and garden in Youghal.
It was confirmed on Thursday that human remains had been uncovered in the house.
