A man in his mid-30s has been charged with the attempted murder of his former partner and the false imprisonment of her child in Dublin.
The incident occurred three months ago at the woman's home in west Dublin.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before Cloverhill District Court today.
He is accused of a knife attack on his former partner in May, causing serious harm, and producing a kitchen knife capable of inflicting serious injury.
He was initially remanded in custody at the time of the incident and was charged with the false imprisonment of the woman's young child.
The accused, who has yet to enter a plea, was remanded in custody again as prosecutors prepare a book of evidence.
