A man has appeared in court charged in connection with two violent stabbings in the Grafton Street area of Dublin in the early hours of yesterday morning.
25-year-old Leon Wright with an address at St. Teresa's Gardens is accused of assault causing harm, robbery and the possession of a knife.
Wearing a navy tracksuit, and top Mr. Wright looked around the cout room during the short hearing today. He was arrested at around 4am on Tuesday morning following 2 stabbing incidents on Chatham Row and outside Burger King on Grafton Street.
One victim was stabbed in the chest and a second man suffered stab wounds to his back and side. Both are still in hospital. A woman was also attacked and robbed during the incidents.
The accused man is facing 3 counts of assault causing harm, 2 charges of robbery, one of attempted robbery and the possession of a knife.
His lawyers asked the judge to order a urine analysis test, telling the Court "it may be very, very important to our defence".
Leon Wright made no application for bail today. He will appear again in court next week.
