A man has been charged in relation to a fatal assault in north Dublin yesterday.
Emergency services were called to a house in Malahide at around 8.30 yesterday morning.
A man in his 60s was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.
A man in his 20s, who was arrested yesterday, is due before a special sitting of the Criminal Courts of Justice at 12 noon.
Local Fianna Fáil councillor Cathal Haughey has said neighbours are finding it difficult to come to terms with what happened.
"In my 28 years of living in Malahide I've never heard of a story like this," he said.
"It's a very quiet, peaceful, nice place to live where people know each other, people get along, it has that small town feel even though it's quite a large town."
Cllr Haughey said the town is "completely shocked."
