A man is due in court in Co Kildare today, charged in connection with a fatal road crash in Nurney yesterday evening.

A man (25) was killed when his motorcycle collided with a van on the Nurney to Kildare road at Walterstown Cross, at around 6.15pm.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene - and his body was removed to Naas Hospital for a post-mortem.

The driver of the van and his male passenger were uninjured.

A man (35) was arrested following the collision.

He is due before Naas District Court, charged with road traffic offences.
