On Monday 23rd March, a man entered a shop on the Ballyfermot Road, and threatened staff with what's thought to have been a screwdriver.

Cash and cigarettes were taken and the man fled the scene on foot.

Cigarettes and cash were also stolen when a man armed with a knife robbed a shop on Sarsfield Road on Thursday 2nd April.

Yesterday, a man entered a pharmacy in Ballyfermot armed with a lump hammer and threatened staff.

He fled the scene with a number of tablets.

Following an operation by detectives in Ballyfermon, a man in his 30s was arrested yesterday.

He's being held at Clondalkin Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984, and is due to appear before Dublin District Court this morning charged in connection with the robberies.
