A man has been charged in the connection with the death of 25-year-old Jack Power in County Waterford last summer.

The young fisherman was stabbed at Shanakiel in Dunmore East in the early hours of the morning on July 26th last year.

He was treated at the scene but died later in hospital.

This evening, Gardaí said an 18-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death.

He is due to appear before a special sitting of Waterford District Court at 9pm this evening.
