A man has been remanded in custody charged with threatening to kill school children.

Elmgrove Primary School in east Belfast was closed yesterday through what were described as "unforeseen circumstances."

Martyn James Price (33) of no fixed abode is accused of misusing a telecommunication network to issue the threat.

He also faced charges of criminal damage and drug possession.

The school is in a mainly unionist area of Belfast. The threat was received by the school on Wednesday.
