A man has been charged with murder following a gun and knife attack in Blanchardstown on Christmas Eve.
22-year-old Michael Andrecut, of Sheephill Avenue in Corduff, Dublin 15, was charged with fatally stabbing 26-year-old Tristan Sherry.
Mr Sherry had arrived at a steakhouse at a restaurant on Blanchardstown’s Main Street at approximately 8pm on December 24th.
Mr Sherry walked into the restaurant with a machine gun and opened fire, injuring a man in his 40s.
Mr Andrecut is accused of stabbing Mr Sherry multiple times after he tried to flee the restaurant.
The attack has been linked to a criminal feud.
Detective Sergeant Mark Murphy told the Criminal Courts of Justice Mr Andrecut was arrested last night at 11.42pm and formally charged at 11.47pm at Blanchardstown Garda Station.
Appearing on behalf of the defence, solicitor Ryan Tunney requested legal aid for the accused, which was granted by Judge Stephanie Coggins.
He will appear before Cloverhill District Court via video link on Tuesday, January 2nd at 9am.
