Gardaí investigating the murder of the drug dealer Eamon Kelly have arrested six people. 

The four men and two women, ranging in age from mid 20s to early 40s, were arrested in the Dublin area this morning.

They are being detained in Coolock, Ballymun and Raheny Garda Stations under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act. 

Yesterday, 34-year-old Sean Connolly of Bernard Curtis House in Bluebell in Dublin was charged with Mr. Kelly's murder.

He appeared before the Special Criminal Court last night.

Sean Connolly is also accused of membership of the IRA and the possession of a glock semi-automatic pistol. 

The special sitting of the three judge court last night heard how Connolly made no reply when formally charged by Gardai.

Convicted drug dealer Eamon Kelly was shot dead last Tuesday at Furry Park Road, Killester.

Sean Connolly has been remanded in custody to appear again in Court later this month.
