A man in his 50s remains in a critical condition in hospital this morning - after he was shot at his home in West Dublin yesterday evening.
The attack took place in Rowlagh Park in Clondalkin.
The victim was shot at close range when he answered his front door at around twenty to seven yesterday evening.
He was rushed to Tallaght Hospital - where his condition is described as critical.
Gardaí say they believe at least two people were involved in the shooting. They also described the victim as a family man and said he was NOT known to them.
The scene, at Rowlagh Park in Clondalkin, remains sealed off this morning while Gardaí carry out a technical examination.
Investigating officers are looking to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting or who may have seen a dark coloured car leave the scene in the direction of Neilstown Road, to contact them.
