A man has died and another has been arrested following a single-vehicle car crash in Kinsale, Co Cork, last night.
It happened at Ballynamona, Kinsale, last night around 1.30am.
The passenger in the car, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His remains have been removed from the scene to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital.
No other injuries were reported at the scene.
The driver, a man in his 30s, was arrested at the scene in connection with offences to the Road Traffic Act.
He is currently detained at a Garda station in Cork.
The road at Ballynamona is currently closed for forensic examination. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this crash to come forward.
They are particularly interested in anyone with dash-cam footage who was driving in the area at the time.
