A man in his 60s is dead following a two-car crash in Dunleer, Co Louth, this morning.
It happened at roughly 8.50am on the R166 at Annagassan.
The driver of one car, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been brought to the Mortuary in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, where a postmortem is due to take place.
The driver of the second car, a woman in her 40s, was airlifted to the Mater Hospital in Dublin, where her condition is described as serious.
The road remains closed for forensic examination and investigations are ongoing.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
They are particularly interested in anyone with dash-cam footage who was driving in the area at the time.
