A man has died following a crash between a van and a lorry in Sligo this morning.
It happened on the N15 at Urlar, Drumcliffe at 6am today.
The driver of the van, a man in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the lorry was taken to Sligo University Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The scene is currently preserved for forensic examination.
Traffic diversions are in place on the N15 at Urlar, between Drumcliffe and Grange.
The local Coroner has been notified, and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in people with dashcam footage travelling between Drumcliffe and Grange at the time of the crash.
This is the 114th death on Irish roads so far this year, compared to 101 by the same time last year.
