A man has died in hospital following a single-vehicle crash in Waterford last night. 

It happened shortly on the N29 after 10.30pm last night, October 28th. 

The two people in the car, both men in their 20s, were brought to University Hospital Waterford, where the driver was later pronounced dead. 

The passenger appears to have non-life-threatening injuries. 

A technical examination of the scene is being prepared and local traffic diversions are in place. 

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward.    

They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was in the area and may have dashcam footage.
