A man in his 50s has died after being hit by lorry when he exited his car following a crash.
It happened at approximately 5 am this morning, in Ballygarraun West, Athenry, Co. Galway.
The man's body has been removed from the scene to University Hospital Galway.
The lorry driver – a man in his 50s – was uninjured.
The road remains closed due to an ongoing technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
