A man has died after the car he was driving hit a stone wall in Co Kilkenny.
It happened in Clomantagh, Freshford at around 1.30am this morning.
The driver, a man aged in his late 30s, died at the scene.
His body has been removed to the mortuary in University Hospital Waterford, where a post mortem will take place.
A passenger - a man aged in his early 40s - was also taken to University Hospital Waterford to be treated for his injuries, which are are not life threatening.
The road is currently closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene.
Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage, and were travelling in the area this morning between 1am and 1.30am, are asked to make this footage available.

It is the second fatal crash on Irish roads in less than 24 hours, after a woman in her 70s died following a two-vehicle collision on the N5 in Swinford, Co Mayo yesterday afternoon.
