The 21-year-old man who was shot a number of times at a wedding reception in Co. Clare in the early hours of Sunday morning has died in hospital this evening.
Robert Sheehan of Moyross in Limerick received gunshot wounds to the head and body as he stood outside Bunratty Castle Hotel.
Gardaí have now launched a murder investigation.
Two men in their 20s who were arrested yesterday in connection with this investigation.
They remain in Garda custody this evening after their period of detention was extended.
Superintendent Derek Smart is leading the investigation.
Speaking to Clare FM he is renewing his appeal for information.
