A man has died - and another is in a serious condition in hospital - after they were stabbed in Dublin this morning. 

Gardai say the attack happened at about half past five this morning on St Anthony's Road outside Herberton Apartments in Rialto - after an altercation between a number of young men.

Two men received stab injuries and were rushed to St James's Hospital where one later died.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination - and Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
