Gardai are expected to launch a murder inquiry following the death of a man in Co. Waterford. Michael O'Dwyer (25) died in hospital from stab wounds sustained at a house in Tramore.
A man (32) is being questioned in connection with his death.
Gardai were called to the Seafield Holiday Cottages estate at around 11.30pm last night. On their arrival they discovered a man outside a house suffering from stab wounds.
Mr. O'Dwyer, from Kilkenny, was rushed to Waterford Regional Hospital where he died shortly after 1am this morning.
The State Pathologist Dr. Marie Cassidy is currently conducting a post mortem examination to determine his exact cause of death.
A man was arrested near the scene which remains sealed off. He is being questioned under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Tramore Garda Station.
Investigating officers are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
