A man in his 50s has died in a crash involving a truck and a van in County Kerry.

Gardaí said it happened on the N21 Castleisland to Abbeyfeale Road at around 9:10am.

The driver of the van was pronounced dead at the scene and was removed to Tralee University Hospital.

The driver of the truck, also a man in his 50s, was taken to the same hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The road remains closed while Gardaí carry out a forensic investigation. Local diversions are in place.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with information on the crash to contact them.

They are especially interested in talking to drivers who were in the area at time and may have dash-cam footage.
