A 24 year-old man has died following a single car collision in county Cork.

It happened at Killeens in Blarney shortly before 2 this morning, when the driver and only occupant of the car was killed when the vehicle struck a ditch.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem will take place later today.

The road is closed while forensic experts examine the scene.
