A man has died following an assault in Dublin.
It happened on Main Street in Ongar on Tuesday evening.
Gardaí say they are investigating an altercation between two men.
One man, aged in his 40s, was taken to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown, where he was pronounced dead.
A post mortem is to be carried out by the Office of the State Pathologist.
The Garda Technical Bureau have been requested to conduct a technical examination of the scene.
An incident room has been set up at Blanchardstown Garda station, and a family liaison officer has been appointed to the family of the dead man.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to come forward, and any road users with video footage - including dash cam - are asked to make this available to them.
