A 30-year-old man has died following a collision in county Cork.

The two-car crash took place at Coolfadda, Bandon, County Cork shortly before six o'clock yesterday evening.

The driver of one of the cars was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the second car, a woman aged 37 years, was also taken to Cork University Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

The road is currently closed and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
