A man has died in crash involving a car and a lorry in County Carlow.

It happened shortly before 7am this morning on the N80 at Gráig na Spideog.

The man who was driving the car was pronounced dead after the crash.

No other injuries have been reported at this time.

The road remains closed while Gardaí carry out a technical examination of the scene.

Local diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly interested in talking to anyone who was in the area may have video footage.
