An Investigation's been launched into a fatal collision on a motorway in Louth.

A man in his forties lost his life in the crash at around lunchtime on the M1 near the exit for Monasterboice.

It is understood a lorry crashed with a van - which was parked in the hard shoulder - and overturned on the embankment.

The victim's remains have been removed to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda where a post mortem is to be carried out tomorrow.
