Motorists are advised the R208 Drumshanbo-to-Aghacashel road in County Leitrim has re-opened following a fatal collision earlier today.

The incident- involving a pedestrian and a teleporter- happened at approximately 1.05pm.

A 40 year old male pedestrian was seriously injured. He was taken by helicopter to Sligo General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the teleporter was uninjured.

A forensic examination has been carried out the road has since re-opened.
