A man has died after being stabbed at a mental health support centre in Dublin this morning.

It happened in the St Lawrence Road area of Clontarf at around 7:15am.

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another man in his 20s was arrested at the scene, and is currently being held at Clontarf Garda Station.

A technical examination of the scene is being carried out, and gardaí say their investigations are ongoing.

Anyone with information about the stabbing is being asked to contact Clontarf Garda Station on 01 666 4800 or the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111.

The HSE says residents of the facility in Clontarf have been moved to alternative accommodation.
