A kite surfer has died after getting into difficultly in the water off the coast of Dubin.

The incident occurred at Dolloymount Strand shortly after 9am this morning.

The body of the man, who is in his 30s, has been taken to the Mater Hospital.

A post-mortem is due to take place at a later date.
