Tributes have been paid to Simon McKinley, the motorsport driver who died in a crash at the Clare Motor Club Annual Hillclimb yesterday evening.
Four-time reigning Irish Hillclimb and Sprint Champion McKinley from Co Dublin died after he reportedly crashed his vehicle at around 5.30pm in the Gortaclare, Bellharbour area of the Burren.
The 34-year-old was taken to University Hospital Limerick where a post mortem examination is due to take place.
In a statement released on their website, Motorsport Ireland said, as a mark of respect, the remainder of the event has been cancelled.
They have also extended their sympathy to the man's family and friends.
