A man in his 20s has died following a motorcycle crash in Cork City this morning.
The single-vehicle crash happened between Junctions 9 and 10 on the South Ring Road at roughly 10.10am this morning.
The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. His body has been removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital where a postmortem will take place.
Two lanes of the N40 are currently closed eastbound as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
They are particularly interested in talking to road users who were in the area at the time and may have camera footage.
