A man has died following a single-vehicle crash in Katesbridge, County Down. 

The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said the crash happened shortly after 12.30am today on the Circular Road. 

The man, who was the front seat passenger of the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The driver of the car and a second passenger were taken to hospital for treatment of injuries. 

The Circular Road was closed for forensic examination and has since been reopened. 

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward. 

They are particularly interested in talking to road users who were in the Katesbridge area between 12am and 12.30am and may have dash cam footage.
