A man has been killed in a car crash in Galway. The single-vehicle collision happened before 2:45am this morning.
It took place on the Headford to Galway Road which is around 6 miles from Galway city. The man who is 31-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The minor road has been closed for a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.

Gardaí in Galway are trying to establish the exact time of the crash. They are also appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
