A man who suffered serious injuries in a Roscommon road crash yesterday has died in hospital.

The crash involving a car and a jeep happened on the N4 at Ardcane near Boyle at around 1.20pm yesterday.

A man in his 70s was rushed to Sligo University Hospital with serious injuries; however, he has since died in hospital.

A woman in her 40s was also taken to the Sligo hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries have been reported.

This morning, Gardaí are renewing their appeal for witnesses to the crash.

They are particularly interested in taking to road users who were in the area between 1pm and 1.30pm and may have camera footage.
