A man who was injured in a bicycle crash in county Monaghan over the weekend has died in hospital.

Gardaí say the single-vehicle collision happened at Gort an Teannal in Knockatallon in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to the incident at around 1.15am and when they arrived, they found a man in his 30s with serious injuries.

He was taken to Enniskillen Hospital; however, he died on Tuesday night.

Gardaí are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

They are particularly interested in talking to road users who were travelling in the area at the time and may have camera footage.
