A 54 year old man has died in a house fire in Co Kerry.

Gardai were called to the scene of the blaze at Lackbrooder, Knocknagoshel at around 6 o'clock yesterday evening.

The body of the man has been removed to Kerry General Hospital where a post mortem will take place.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
