A man has been killed in a road crash in Co. Kildare.

The motorcyclist died after his vehicle was hit by a car at Dagwelds Cross, Blackwood, Naas at about 7.30 yesterday evening.

The 30 year old was taken to Naas General Hospital, but he was pronounced dead later that evening.

A woman who was driving the car was treated for minor injuries at the hospital.

The stretch of road was closed overnight, but has now reopened.

Gardai at Naas are appealing for witnesses.
