A man has died following a two car collision in Co Limerick this morning.
The man (63), who was the sole occupant of his car, was fatally injured when he became involved in a collision with another vehicle at Carrickerry in Athea at approximately 7.10 am.
He was pronounced dead at scene and his body was removed to Limerick Regional Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.
Meanwhile, the driver and sole occupant of the second car, a man (33), was also taken to Limerick Regional Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The road is currently closed to allow gardaí to examine the scene and local diversions are in place.
