A man in his 30s has died in a car crash in County Mayo. 

The crash took place on the N17 at Corbally, in the town of Claremorris, at 5.20 this evening when a car and a lorry collided. 

The driver of the car died in the crash; no other injuries were reported. 

The road will remain shut overnight ahead of an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. 

Local diversions have been put in place.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact Claremorris Garda Station on 094 937 2080.
