A man has been killed in a multi-vehicle road crash in Co. Wicklow this morning.

It is understood he was struck by a car after he was involved in a collision on the N11.

The collision happened at around 7am this morning on the N11 northbound at the Ashford/Rathnew Exit.

It is understood the man who was aged in his 30s was involved in a collision and had gotten out of his vehicle when he was hit by another car.

Up to 7 vehicles were involved in the incident.

The road is closed pending a technical examination and gardai are appealing for witnesses.

Motorists are advised to take an alternative route as there are long delays in the area.
