A man has died following a crash in Co Tipperary yesterday.

The 24 year old was killed when the van he was driving collided with a tree at Bantiss, Cloughjordan just before 6 o'clock yesterday evening.

He was taken to the Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise where he was later pronounced dead.

The road is currently closed for a techinical examination and diversions are in place.
