A man in his 40s has died after a road collision in Co. Kildare.
Gardai in Carbury are investigating after the 2-vehicle crash on the M4 east-bound near Broadford in Kinnegad at about 9.50pm yesterday.
The man who died was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The sole occupant of the second car - a male in his 20s - was taken to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with injuries described as not life-threatening.
Cork city appeal
Separately, gardai in Cork City are appealing for witnesses to a serious road crash in which an elderly man was knocked down and injured earlier this week.
The incident happened at Curraheen road in Bishopstown at about 6:50pm on Wednesday evening.
An 80-year-old man was hit by a car and later taken to Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as stable.
The driver of the car was uninjured.
Gardai at Bishopstown would like to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.
