An elderly man was who was seriously injured after he was struck by a motorbike in County Kilkenny has died in hospital.

It happened on the evening of Saturday September 21st in Mooncoin village.

The man in his 80s was seriously injured when he was struck by the motorbike and was rushed to Mater Hospital for treatment.

He has since died in hospital.

Gardaí are this morning renewing their appeal for witnesses to the collision.

They are particularly interested in talking to road users who were in the village or travelling through on the N4 between 7pm and 8pm on the night of the incident and may have camera footage.
