A man has died after a car crash in County Cork.

Gardaí said the three-car crash happened on the N20 in Ballybeg, near Buttevant in north County Cork at around 10:50 pm last night.

Investigators said the man’s car collided with a second car, causing one of them to spin on the road and crash into a third.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to the mortuary at Cork University Hospital.

A post mortem is due to be carried out today.

The Buttevant/Mallow road remains partially closed today while Gardaí carry out a forensic examination of the crash site.

Investigators are appealing for anyone with any information on the crash to come forward.

They are particularly interested in talking to drivers who were travelling on the road between 10 pm and 11:30 pm and who may have dash-cam footage.
