A man has been seriously injured following a crash on the Kilmallock Road in Limerick city.

The incident took place yesterday evening at approximately 7.10pm.

A man in his 20s travelling on an electric motorbike was discovered seriously injured by Gardaí.

He has since been transferred to Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

The scene at Kilmallock Road is undergoing a technical examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
