Man charged over Waterford arson attacks is refused bail

A man (19) charged with two counts of arson and one of burglary at properties in Ballybeg has been refused bail at Waterford District Court.

Gerard Halloran appeared again before the court this lunch time.

Mr Halloran, with an undisclosed address, was before a special sitting of the District Court Friday night.

He was charged with arson at St Saviours GAA club, and on a separate count of arson at the Ballybeg Youth Resource Centre on January 24th.

He was also charged with burglary at St Saviours GAA club on the same date.

At the District Court today, Mr Halloran was refused bail by the Judge Kevin Staunton.

He has been further remanded in custody to St Patrick's Detention Centre in Dublin to appear before the Court again on February 17th.
